Bob’s and Scott’s guitars were built by Gary Zimnicki (Zimnicki Guitars, Allen Park, MI). Gary is a small builder who builds all kinds of hand-made guitars. Scott’s guitar was completed summer '02, and Bob's summer '03. Both are similar to the koa guitar Trey has been playing as his primary guitar since '97. They are both 24 fret, 25-1/2" scale length, completely hollow, archtop with koa top, sides, and back. Pickups are Semour-Duncan 59's at the neck and JB's at the bridge with a 3-position switch. There are single volume and tone controls. Gary added a few features of his own, like grounding everything to a brass plate that he hid in the tailpiece.
